Nonlinear Editing

Nonlinear editing is similar in concept to word processing, only done with pictures and sounds.  All of the images are manipulated digitally, and virtually anything can be accomplished with the original footage.

Our video/audio production facility houses two fully integrated nonlinear digital edit suites, using Apple’s Final Cut Pro family of products.  In addition, we incorporate the full suite of Adobe products, including After Effects for high end motion graphics and compositing, and Photoshop for image retouching and effects.  We use Apple’s Compressor and DVD Studio Pro for the compression of video files commonly used for CD-ROMs, web streaming and other presentation needs.

In addition to doing post production work for many area Producers, our projects range from television commercials to corporate image pieces, and include many training and marketing programs for government and military clients.  Our expertise and decades of experience allow video and audio productions to proceed with great savings to the client in terms of time and budget.

JHT also has full audio recording and sweetening capabilities, music and sound effects libraries, and sophisticated motion graphic production capabilities.

Extensive audio editing and sweetening is done with a combination of Apple Soundtrack and Sonic Foundry’s Sound Forge, giving us an unlimited number of audio tracks that are later mixed down into a stereo signal.  Each of these audio tracks may have a wide range of post processing audio effects applied.  We have a fully sound-proofed audio booth, featuring Electrovoice microphones.  JHT also owns five different music libraries, some with split tracks enabling custom mixes.  We can also provide original music composition when requested.

Additional scenes from our extensive in-house stock footage selection often supplement our camera original footage. Available footage includes industrial, military, agricultural, travel, entertainment, aerial, and business community shots.
