2D Animation
2 Dimensional refers to objects that are constructed on two planes, height and width.  These objects are flat, but appear to have depth, much like a painting.  If you were to rotate them sideways, you would see their flat edges.  Photographs are often manipulated in 2D.  Careful use of scaling and drop shadows may manipulate perspective on 2 dimensional structures to simulate 3D space on screen.

3D Animation
3D animation concerns objects that appear in a three-dimensional space.  Think of it like a clay figure versus a painting (flat).  Computer-created 3D objects can be rotated and moved like real objects.  All sides of the object are built in the computer, so if you turn the object around, you would see the back side. A 3D animation may be the perfect way to demonstrate something that can not be videotaped directly, such as the inside of a running engine, or an exploded view of a complex assembly.  This type of graphic is often designed from the original blueprints or Cad Cam files, and can be highly accurate.  3D animation is at the heart of games and virtual reality, but it may also be used in presentation graphics to add flair to the visuals, such as your corporate logo, or charts and graphs.

Flash Animation
Flash has a unique hand-drawn or “illustration” look that can be incorporated into commercials and other video productions for a different style or approach.  Flash art can be animated much like 2D graphics for adding alternate transitions, text, or even morphing vector images.  Creating short flash animations allows us to give a variety of looks and graphic treatments to your finished product, whether it’s a TV commercial consisting of completely animated graphics, text, and pictures or inserts for your corporate presentation or trade show video.  Flash is one more tool in our arsenal of digital products and extends the range of graphics that we can create for you.
